Styling: Before and after

Two weeks ago we styled a modern villa out in Stocksund on behalf of Wrede Real Estate. Since the house was completely empty we could turn it into a real Ruth & Joanna house and we are so happy with the result. The rugs we used are from Layered and the artificial plants are from Redeko Flowers and they are the most real unreal plants on the market. The talented photographer Jesper Florbrant a.k.a. “Inredningsfotografen” made a great photoshoot of the house and below are some “before” and “after” pictures on the house!

Raffles Hotel - Warsaw

In our blog we will write about hotels and restaurants around the world whose interiors stand out the little extra. A few months ago we visited a furniture fair in Warsaw and stayed at the newly opened Hotel Raffles. Their decor is completely in Ruth & Joanna’s taste with a lot of velvet, lovely colors, brass and mirror glass.

Below is a nice slideshow of pictures from the rooms, lobby, bar, restaurant and spa.

Sanne Alexandra´s inspiring home

Our friends Louise W Hjort (Stylebylojs) has helped the designer and influencer Sanne Alexandra with the renovation and styling of her and her husbands apartment in Stockholm. The result is amazing! We are happy to see that they have used some of our products in the apartment, like our Becca Lamp, 130 cm wall mirror, Fiona bench and Fleur Side Tables.

Here are some pics from Sannes home and the pictures are taken by Skandiamäklarna:

Round wall mirrors

Wall mirrors are not only stylish and pretty but also gives deep to a room. Round mirrors give a soft and welcoming impression and therefore we think that every home should have at least one round mirror. We are particularly fond of discrete mirrors without too much details, we think only a thin metal frame is enough. If you want to make an extra statement, choose a mirror that is generous in its diameter, at least 120 cm. But if you want a mirror above, for example, a console table, you can choose a mirror that is about 100 cm in diameter. Below you will find some inspiring pictures of interior with round beautiful mirrors.

In our collection we have mirrors in various sizes and shapes and when it comes to round mirrors you can choose between size 60 cm, 100 cm and 130 cm in diameter. The frame is available in polished brass, chrome and black chrome.

Velvet

A material that really got a boost within interior design in recent years is the beautiful velvet, and it looks like it is a material that is here to stay! We love to work with velvet and therefore we sell everything from velvet sofas and velvet armchairs to velvet poufs and velvet benches. The history of velvet dates back hundreds of years in time, some claiming that the velvet developed already 2000 years ago. With its beautiful and soft appearance and high production cost, the velvet was associated with royalty, but today it is widely used in both interior and fashion. Velvet can be made from natural materials such as cotton but also from synthetic materials such as polyester or viscose. We sell furniture made of both cotton and polyester velvet.

If you don’t want a whole sofa in velvet, every home should at least have a smaller piece of velvet furniture like a bench, pouf or armchair and we can almost guarantee that it will enhance the experience of any room!
